Hi. I too am in the process of building my first gaming PC. I saw your parts list. Here are my thoughts on some.
Anti-Static Wrist Strap- I really dont see the need to get this. I just regularly touch the metal case to discharge any static.
DVD Drive- For me I figured I hardly use the CD or DVD Drives in my current pc/laptops. I decided to buy cheapest one available. Then I realized I could just take the drive from my Inspiron 531 and not spend.
Corsair 2x4GB- I opted for 2x8GB.
PSU- I still have not decided on this. But I know I want at least 750W.
BitFenix Colossus- Thats a nice case. I seen that a few times. But in the end, I decided for the Rosewill Thor V2.
ASRock H87- I have this same motherboard on my watch list. Still undecided on what to get.
2TB- I decided to not get storage. I will just take the 500GB that I have and install that instead of getting a new one.
840 Pro Series SSD- I like this too and will be having this on my rig.
i7- I'm still undecided on this. Lately, I am leaning towards saving that $100 and go for the i5.
EVGA Geforce GTX 760- I like the Geforce GTX 760. Still looking for the $250 or less.
Those are just some of my thoughts on your list. Some I like and will be getting same or similar items. Some items I am still undecided on. I thought savings I make from not buying new CD/DVD drive, anti-static, Storage drive can be use towards more memory or better graphics card.
