Hi all i hope you can help me i'm new to forums so i don't know if this is the right place to ask.

Most of my games at the moment have been crashing. The games are fine in the menus but when i actually get to the game play the screen will go black then come back on and there will be a constant buzzing noise coming from my speakers and then the game just crashes.

I have had many different errors from display drives have stopped responding to just this game has stopped responding. I have updated all of my graphics drivers. I have also run temperature tests and all my temps are normal so i don't think its overheating so i'm wondering if it is a problem with my GPU or RAM i would love any help. Thanks

Specs:
i7 3770k CPU 3.5 GHz
16GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 680 GPU
P8 Z77-V LK Motherboard

My PSU is a Cooler master silent pro M2 720W. I don't think this would be the issue as I have run MSI Kombustor to max out my GPU to see how it handled and it did not crash when I did that.

This does not happen on all games. I can run Arma 3 Beta on ultra settings with no crashing and the same with Call of duty black ops 2. My computer does not need to be restarted as I can get out of the crashed game with Ctrl alt del so it does not crash the whole system just the game.

I just downloaded payday 2 now when I run that game it does not crash as the other games do it is just very jumpy, it will go from being smooth for a few seconds and then just keeps freezing and un freezing. I then ran it in windowed mode so I could monitor the load on the GPU and I found that when it starts to freeze the load on the GPU will go from like 85% to 0% and it kept doing that until the game finally crashed and I got the error saying the display drivers have stopped responding and have recovered.

I just uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and I still get the error. By what is happening it looks like a GPU error either in the settings or the actual hardware. However my most graphic intensive game Arma 3 on ultra runs fine with no crashing so it does not make any sense.

I might try removing one stick of ram at a time and run the game to see if it is a memory error but other than that I have no idea what is causing the error. If this happened to all games I would say it was the GPU however it does not happen on them all which confuses me.

I believe that I have fixed the issue. In my bios I can change the overall performance from power saver to Normal and to Max performance. It seems that on max performance things start to break. I have played payday 2 now for 30 mins with no graphical errors of crashing. Ill report later if anything happens
