I currently have an i3 3220 and an HD7770... I know.. Not the best rig.. It works for BF3.. Now my problem is BF4 is around the corner.. I can't choose what to upgrade.. the I3 or the 7770... I would either upgrade my i3 to an i5 3570k or the 7770 to a gtx 760.. I want to upgrade the GPU first.. Since so far I have seen decent benchmarks on multi player for the i3 3220.. And get a 3570k later.. At the same time people tell me THe bottleneck will be too much.. and I won't get good fps(above 50-60) on BF4.. at 720p all low..

I say the CPU will even help your already owned 7770 until you can get the GTX 760. It's possible you may be bottlenecking at satisfactory gameplay but still bottlenecking none the less. That 7770 at 720p should be doing magnificent LOL! That resolution is no where near demanding. I would push a better CPU since BF is one of the few games that not only GPU intensive but also CPU intensive (a little not a crazy lot). Still though I would snatch the i5 and most definitely pick up the 700 series GPU a little later. Or if the new shadowplay feature to be released for the 600/700 series cards really facinates you and you don't see yourself being able to snatch the new GPU within the next couple months then get the new GPU first then the CPU! But I would upgrade the CPU since you may not want the complication of a bottleneck.

I'm pretty sure that if you upgrade your GPU first, it will be bottlenecked, especially if want to play BF4, you will only feel a slight difference. Unless you OC it, then i'm pretty sure it'll be okay. But, imo upgrade your CPU and GPU if you intend to play BF4 on ultra.

He's running 720p it's not going to be demanding I would say both if he said 1080p on ultra for sure but on 720p perhaps even on high wouldn't be too demanding. He just wants to play. I still say the CPU first just to avoid the bottleneck of course! :)

I want to go with the 760.. Since now the 7770 can barely keep at 70 fps on all low bf3.. I want to run BF4 at 60+ since I play comp.. I don't care about the graphics.. All I care about is being able to keep a stable fps.. If the i3 is gonna bottleneck the 760 by over 60% then that would be a problem.. Since the 760 at an i5 can be over 120fps.. I don't see why I would believe that the i3 3220 would make THAT big of a difference and bottleneck on the 760 to the level of a 7770..

Yes, but it's BF4. Since it's frostbite engine 3, it's more demanding. If he want's above 50-60 fps, he won't be able to with 720p ultra, because of his current GPU, CPU.

70 fps is pretty decent. But yes, if you want to run BF4 at 60+, all low settings 720p then there is no problem, you can start by upgrading your GPU. But your CPU will still bottleneck. So in the nearest future you can upgrade your CPU also.

I said I was a top end comp player... I wanna play at all low... Nothing at med or high... I doubt the 8350 and 760 would get 50-60 on ultra.. bf4..
