Hi Guys........I have a problem i want to overclock my amd sempron 145 processor . I have overclocked my AMD sempron to 3.35 ghz maximum on stock cooling.After than my Pc showed some peculiar signs and behaved strangely. So i turned the clock back to 2.80 Ghz . I want proper instructions regarding overclocking and do i need to buy a new cooler?

Sorry ... you cannot unlock cores with an nVidia chipset!

Assuming you have DDR2 667Mhz memory (possibly 333MHz in your BIOS), you should drop your memory down one notch to the DDR2 533Mhz setting (It may be 266MHz in your BIOS). Drop your HT Link speed from 5x to 4x.

This will allow you to raise your system clock (FSB) from stock 200MHz to a maximum 240MHz, while keeping your memory and HT in spec.

What is the speed of your RAMs and your motherboard model?

With after-market cooling and the right motherboard, you should easily hit 3.8GHz+ and possibly unlock your chip to a dual-core.

heres my system summary:
Current memory clock:334.9 mhz
Motherboard model :nvida mcp-61
and did you unlock your second core through bios or any software cause my bios dont have that feature of unlocking second core (i think so) but not sure my bios are pheonix award workstations bios.............thnx and reply please.?
