This is my bios temperature reading:

Why doesn't it show temperature per core? :(

Hi,

Id say their is a software problem somewhere, test out with speedfan, hwmonitor to see what it gives you.
What do you get in BIOS ?

As you can see in the picture, I get 65 in bios (idle). I just ran passmark CPU test and got 67 highest in Core Temp.

I tried both Core Temp and Hwmonitor, and NEITHER display temperature PER CORE O.o

Tried, still idles at 65 C in bios. This is so weird, why is the temperature in windows so much lower?

I tested with Prime95 for about 10 minutes, the temperature settled around 71-73 C

Try dissabling cool n quite from bios

Disabled, no change. I just bought this CPU and I have a cooler master 332 elite case. What should I do? I never plan to overclock I just want stable gaming performance and I'm afraid Crysis 3 will fry my PC

Yes it surely will

Get a aftermarket cooler like cheap tx3 from cooler master to control temps it seems to be something wrong with stock cooler

I was thinking of going with 212 Evo instead, I heard it's much better. But I'm not sure if it fits in my case, which I think is cooler master elite 332 (based on looking at pictures of cases online).

My case:

CM elite 332 website: http://www.coolermaster.com/product/Detail/case/mid-tow...

I heard from some people in my country that it barely fits, but it fits. Can that cause air problems?

Best solution

It would fit there for sure w/o problems as its specs say 162mm max hieght cooler and the evo is 159

Speccy reports temps for each core and much more.

On a side note, you MUST get cooling on your VRMs! The MSI 970A-G43 is NOTORIOUS for burning out the VRMs when using an 8350. Dead serious, buy some heatsinks and perhaps a fan directly over them. There is a very high failure rate on that motherboard when using the 8350.

yes 970 g43 has poor qualitu heatsink

Its not just that they have no heatsink; they are poor quality VRMs. The extreme heat coupled with the fact that they have no stock heat sink just compounds the issue.

I was thinking of getting some kind of a fan in the area I just measured:

so I get generally better cooling in my case. Would that help?

The part I Xed over I will have to remove because of the 212 evo when it arrives...

Buy two packs of these and put them on the VRMs:

To be honest, since my mobo is new ( under warranty ) it would be easier to RMA it if it dies then get those coolers, since no one sells them in Serbia so i'd have to import. Those coolers would be almost as expencive as my mobo anyway xD.

I was thinking of getting a cooler in the area I mentioned to improve case air flow generally, but it's a really weird dimension for a cooler location.

You don't necessarily have top get those ones, they're just an example. Can you find something similar locally?
