Ok so i currently have G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB 1600MHz (http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/gskill-memory-f312800cl9d8gbxl)

But i want to upgrade to something much better.. thats a bit more expensive then this.. i would say my budget is $150 but yeah maybe something from corsair. I don't know alot about RAM, and this works fine for me.. but recently one of the dims got currupt and i need to buy a new kit.. so i was looking to maybe just upgrade and find a different kit. By the way I'm looking for around 8 GB to 16 GB.. LASTLY, should i just order 2 of these .Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB 1600MHz kits and use all 4 dims to have 16 GBs of RAM?

EDIT: RAM I'M LOOKING FRO IS FOR GAMING PURPOSES! I ALSO HAVE CM HYPERE 212 EVO SO HEATSPREADERS CAN'T BE TOO HIGH.. THE RAM I HAVE NO FIT PERFECTLY AND FITS!

Solution

Personally, I do not see any diff in performance b/w two brands. Corsair memory is slightly priced above GSkill. But both brands are good. GSkill brand is good so you can sticking with the same else if you feel uncomfortable with Gskill memory then go with Corsair brand, no issues with that!!! Cheers!!

Go with 2 x 8GB (16GB kit) instead of 4 x 4GB modules as the latter setup will run only in Dual channel with more stress to the Memory controller. Try the below links for suggested memory -

If you need memory without heat spreaders then try crucial, Kingston, Memorystock or search for ValueRAM in Amazon, Newegg etc!!

Well I'm overall looking for the highest performing RAM out of those three.. So would you say the G.SKILL Sniper RAM (3rd link) would be the best performing one? (I assume that because its the highest prices) if so I'll definitely get that.

Since, the specs are exactly the same you can go with the lowest priced memory. There isn't much difference in performance, the price diff is usually due to the manufacturer considering one series highly rated than the other but it may also be due to the demand in the market.

OK cool, lastly if in the future once i have the Ripjaws x 16 gb kit and i wanted to upgrade to 32 gb I can just buy the same exact kit and then put in the other 2 dims and have 4 total dims of 32 gbs (4 x 8) of ram? will that work?

Yes, buy and install the exactly same kit. Yes, 4 DIMMs for a total of 32GB (4 x 8GB). Yes, it will work without any issues.
