is ASUS HD7770-2GD5 2GB compatible with my GIGABYTE GA-H61M-S2PV RETAIL motherboard? i want to buy a new gpu but i need to know if this one is compatible :)

Yes they are. PCI-E 3.0 works with 2.0 and 1.1/1.0 boards.

Just ensure you meet the needed power supply requirements.

Yes the GPU is compatible with the MB. But I wonder why does it matter if you are getting a new GPU ?

i want to play games at maxed graphics but my gpu doesnt support them at max at all ( amd hd 7750 1gb) so i want this one

A 7770 is not a great upgrade from a 7750.

Maybe look at the 7850-7870 or better.

Please look at the benchmarks on this page and the ones following it.

A 7770 is NOT a good upgrade from a 7750. Its faster, but is it worth the price?

You can never have too much video power(within reason). As long as you got the power supply for it, Get the fastest thing you can afford if you plan to keep it long term.

I managed to get quite a few years out of my 5870(but for newer games some settings need to be turned down a bit for sure).

It is hard to say what future games will need as games tend to follow the consoles now and newer ones are about to be released.
