Two Cat.5e cables

Hello,

Can I take the connectors off an end of two different cat.5e cables and connect those ends by soldering and have it work?

Yes, that will work. It's just wire. But it will look ugly as sin.
Why not just get a bag of cable ends and an RJ-45 crimper? Make your own cables however log you want.

Technically, yes, as long as the remaining connectors are wired correctly on each end of the new, longer, cable.

Dollar store by my place sells RJ45 connectors, 2 for $1.

Also, how long does the resulting cable need to be? Over 100m, you're out of luck.
