So, at the moment I have a GT 630, and really need the upgrade, I've been saying lately on the forums that I will get a GTX 770, but now I'm second guessing myself.

Should I buy the eVGA GTX 770 around Christmas time or the eVGA GTX 780 at about March time?

If I buy the 770, I can get the i7 3770k because I make videos and that would help out rendering a lot.

I need help, don't know what I should do...

Might be able to get the 780 a bit before March, but ATLEAST Christmas.

yes. so ask in christmas. its useless to ask now when the prices by then are going to be irrelevant

If you aren't buying for like five or six months, don't make your decision until then.

There's no real point in thinking about it too much now, as the prices will change, and there may even be other cards released by then that you'd want instead.

Now, if you're asking because you want to know how much money to save, that makes sense :-)
I'd say plan on getting the 770 - if you're going for 1080p gaming, it's very much "good enough for everything" - and then some.

if you're going to wait for next March for 780, just get the 770. especially when you're coming from a GT 630, you'll be blown away by the 770 anyway. also, I doubt you actually need the full performance of a 780, a 770 should be sufficient.

This is, of course, assuming you're gaming at 1080p max, and aiming for ~40+fps for even the most demanding titles. if you want 60fps, wait for the 780

as vmem said, your coming from a 630 so you will be blown away regardlesss. but i would go with the 780 because x70 is a stripped version of the x80. If you got the money do it if you don't 770 is more then enough

No, the 770 is a re-vamped 680, and the 780 is like a lower-end Titan. Only the 770 uses the same chip as the 680.
