Motherboard Power Cord won't latch into the socket

I have a Corsair AX760 PSU with an ASUS Z87 Sabertooth motherboard. Most all of the cables fit in nicely, but I am having trouble getting the motherboard power cable to securely latch in. It definitely fits in, but the clippish thing that latches it securely into place will not do so. The cable seems fairly snug, but it doesnt look like it's clipping in, and it comes out a bit easier than I'd like. Will I be fine or will there be trouble (aside from the computer not starting).

To those that might say "keep pushing it in"..if I push it in any farther the board will snap..as it is I'm worried with how hard I've already pushed it in.

yeah, that is what i was thinking of..i assume you found that to be safe enough?

worst i can think of happening is having to take off the panel and pop it back in every time i move or smash my foot into the side. My main worry is that if it was only slightly in it might cause issues with the power and possibly cause some nasty things to happen. But it feels like its gone in as far as it will, so i guess this will have to do

The main ATX 24-pin socket is at the edge of the motherboard. You should be able to squeeze the ATX (20+4)-pin connector from the PSU firmly against the socket on the motherboard. Do this by placing the edge of the motherboard against your forefingers and placing your thumbs against each end of the ATX (20+4)-pin connector and squeeze. This eliminates the problem of motherboard flexing that would happen if you were to just push down harder on the connector.

Motherboard standoff heights vary depending on the brand and model of the computer case you have. If you can get the edge of your forefingers under the edge of the motherboard that should give you enough leverage to give it a good squeeze.
