Dual Fan Config Help

Hi, I have a Hyper 212 with 2 fans (both the same as the fan that came with it, both PWM), and I have a Asrock Extreme 4.

I was wondering when I hook my fans up, is it better to plug both fans into the same 4 pin PWN slot on my motherboard (cpu_fan1) via a splitter.

or plug one into a 4pin PWN slot (cpu_fan1), and the other into a 3 pin fan slot(cpu_fan2).

I currently have them both in the 4pin slot, because I wanted their speed to be the same(I heard that is key when using push-pull configurations) but now I'm begininng to question why Asrock put a 2nd cpu fan slot in the first place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I too hated the idea of the fans not having their own power supply when it's offered, but isn't it a bad thing if the fans aren't spinning at the same speed, or out of sync?

The temps are lower (1 and sometimes 2 degrees c lower at idle lol). Are you sure the different airstreams wont damage anything?
