Hi Guys,

So I want to overclock my CPU to gain the best FPS on my games. The CPU I have is the Intel quad-core i7 3820. It runs at a standard 3.6ghz but I would really like to boost it too 4.2-4.6 ghz so I can run my games.

I have ASUS® P9X79 motherboard with 8gb Kingston hyper x RAM and a 450w PSU.

I would really like to have my system running at a high but stable condition.

Thanks in advance

Solution
Increase BCLK and multiplier.
For 4.5GHz you need something 102.25 x 44.
Experiment with different combinations of blck and multiplier.
Take into consideration, that your RAM will get overclocked too. So you may want to lower it's ratio.

Thanks Guys. The GPU I'm using is 2G Nvidia GeForce GTX 650ti and my PSU is the 450w Corsair Hydro H60. Thing is, thunder master is installed as a default programme for the GPU and has a big button that says overclock. When I click this a few settings appear but as soon as I adjust them my screen literally goes black and I have to reset my comp. also, apparently FSX is more of a CPU intense game. That is what I will be running most of the time.
