Remote Desktop Connections and Gaming

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this to, but hopefully you guys can at least point me in the right direction. Here's my situation - I've recently built a PC for gaming that also functions as my family home PC. Now, I leave for college in a few weeks, and I won't be able to bring my desktop with me (partially because it's a family computer, partially because I don't want to get addicted to gaming). However, I still want to be able to play a few video games occasionally if I ever get bored/need my gaming fix. So in this case, is there any software out there (free or otherwise) that would allow me to be able to connect from my university's network to my home network and play my games via the desktop? I've already considered LogMeIn and Splashtop, but I've heard that LogMeIn isn't great for gaming, and Splashtop requires a subscription to access a computer from a different network, which isn't preferable, but if there's nothing else, I'll probably go for it.

Relevant details:
Home PC OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
College computer OS: OS X 10.7 with Windows 7 Enterprise on Parallels

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know of any that would give acceptable gaming performance.

For starters, you're trilping the actual traffic. You -> home -> game server -> home -> back to you.
Add in the overhead of the college network...

I believe I'm only doubling it, actually. I'm not really interested in online multiplayer or anything, everything I want is already installed on my PC and I'm only interested in single-player campaigns. The only reason I'm not using the laptop I have at college is because it doesn't have as good graphics performance as the card in my home PC. Thanks for the response though!

Fair enough. I might try TeamViewer and OnLive and see if I can get anything close to reasonable performance - if not, I guess it just gives me another reason to visit home on the weekends!
