Graphics jumpy on Skyrim and other games.

Hello, I built a computer a few weeks ago and put Windows 7 Pro on it. I installed Skyrim and Battlefield 3 and they worked fine for the first day or two. After that the graphics on Skyrim got real jumpy. The best way I think I can describe it is it looks like the gameplay is runnning at about 1.5-2x normal speed and one-two times a second the graphics jump to a point in time that is about .5 seconds ahead of where it should be. If I shoot an arrow at something it would show the arrow flying through the air and then jump to the animal lying dead on the ground and skip the part where it hits the animal. Like I said, it was working fine the first day or two after I installed Windows. I have tried lowering the graphics settings to their lowest, but that doesn't change anything. It is noticable in Battlefield 3, but not near as bad as in Skyrim. It also does the same thing on a game or two I play on facebook (Battle Pirates), which should not use up near as much of the processor or graphics card. The only thing I can think of that was changed with the computer from the time it worked fine to the time I had the problem was windows update installed their 100+ updates. Several times, when I restart the computer after it has installed updates it says a few of the updates failed. Don't know if that has anything to do with it, but things worked fine before all the updates were installed. I have also had a problem playing songs off my iPod through the computer. The iPod is plugged into the USB port and then I play them through iTunes...The songs will randomly jump forward 30 seconds or a minute, but work fine when I use the iPod with headphones. Don't know if this is connected, but it seems similar to the graphics problem. Thanks!

try updating sound driver... Also BF3 is known to have stutter issues and nobody seems to have pinned it down.. I have solved this issue by starting game, and then minimizing the game and shutting the browser off and going back in game.. skyrim could also be caused by a slow hard drive or a faulty one. but seeing as the system is new, it may not be a bad drive. though you can try defragging.. skyrim streams data form teh hard drive so it is sensitive to hd transfers and other apps consuming i/o's

Driver issues can be strange. Keep us posted

Well, it has been about 3 days and the problems are back. Not sure why it takes a few days for this to be noticeable. I will try doing the same thing and uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them. In addition to the above description, when I try to stream a movie through Netflix it will play for a minute or so and then the browser screen will go black and when I refresh it will say Microsoft Silverlight is unresponsive. It was working fine last night, but tonight it started doing this again. Could it be a virus? I put Norton 360 on there right after I installed Windows. Thanks for the help!
