Hi, after a lot of research trying to fit the desired components into my tight budget (making some sacrifices on both sides), I came up with the following configuration (prices in euro because I live in Belgium):
Asus GRYPHON Z87 (€135,4)
Gigabyte GeForceGTX660 2GB OC (€174,1)
Intel i5-4670K (€208,4)
Fractal Design Define Mini (€74,8)
Scythe Mugen 3B (€37)
G.Skill 8GB PC3-14900 (€67,2)
Western digital Caviar Green 1TB (€55,4)
XFX PRO650W (€77,6)
+ a somewhat older OCZ Vertex3 60GB I have at home.
Since this would be the first pc I build myself, I thought it would be good if someone with more experience checked it. Questions that spring to mind:
1) First and foremost, are these components compatible? AND do they fit in the case (specs say yes with 2mm difference)?
2) If they do, is this a balanced system, without bottlenecks? AND is there enough cooling (cpu, casefans)?
3) And if that's ok, is their overall power enough AND futureproof? On an old Q6600 my homework would sometimes run the whole night (algorithm tests), and I also like the occasional high graphics rpg (tes and gothic series especially).
Also, if I have the luck and some linuxbuilder reads this, do you spot a great compatibility-issue? I'm totally Windowsfree inbetween TES games, strolling over some great Arch-derivatives.
I'd be enormously encouraged (and thankful) if someone could check this, or point me on any mistake. THANKS IN ADVANCE !!
