I'm new at gaming and i want to now what kind of games I can play on above low settings. I Love games like Skyrim and I like Fps games. The reason why I ask for this is because a website said i can run far cry 3 blood dragon on recommended settings and there can be some major lag spikes. My Gaming store did not know a thing.
Here are my specs:
Processor: 3.6 GHz FX-Series Quad-Core FX-4100
Ram: 8 GB DDR3
Hard drive: 1024 GB SATA 111
Graphics Co-processor: NVIDIA GT610
Graphics Card Ram size; 1024 MB

Do any of you have in mind a cheap graphics card that will be best for the games I want to play? Another problem is I don't want to mess up my computer by opening it up. I'm no computer whiz as you can probably already tell. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what a psu is and it has to be like $100 maybe $150. I know thats a considerably low amount but I mean im a teen not even old enough for a job. and by the way i am extremely sorry for being such a noob.

PSU is your power supply, what kind of card you can run relies heavily on if your power supply can handle it. Let us know what kind/model it is wattage and 12v amperage if you can (should all be on a label on the power supply). And you can get a great card for under $100 right now that will make your gaming like a zillion times better.

This may sound daft but is the psu inside the computer?
I take that back i may be able to tell you in just a minute.

never mind i thought it said in the specs online but it didn't. Can i find out without taking it apart?

Yes, the power supply is in the computer.
Here are the two upgrades you'll need:
AMD 7770 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127687
CX 430M PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139049&Tpk=430w%20modular%20psu
The 7770 is only $70 with a $30 mail in rebate and the PSU is $40 with a mail in rebate. The AMD 7770 will play just about all games including Crysis 3, BF3/ 4 (when it comes out), Far Cry 3, and Metro Last Light at medium high to high settings. This is a great deal if you ask me. It's what I have in my system. I play FC3: Blood Dragon at about 40 fps at 1080p. There are dozens of tutorials on how to change your PSU and graphics card on YouTube.

Enjoy :D

You don't have to take the computer apart per se to find out about your power supply, you should be able to see the label with all the necessary info by just taking the side panel off the case, not requiring touching any sensitive part. Mr. Boom Booms suggestion is probably the route i would go though if your PSU isn't something decent, that's a good PSU (i run one right now) and a decent graphics card, you'll be happy with both.

Well as long as I will be able to play upcoming fps, and rpg games nicely then i'll be happy. Are there any games I can't play at all? (Not even on low settings) and if so are they the kind of games I like to play?
now is it possible that when I install my new psu my computer won't be strong enough for it? Like the psu is too powerful? Also I couldn't find online on how the psu helps with gaming. I also wanted to know if the graphics card suggested (AMD 7770) is really that much of an upgrade from my current nvidia GT 610. I'll be very thankful for an answer.

Like I said before.... the AMD 7770 can play BF3 Ultra at 45 fps, Crysis 3 medium-high at 35 fps, Far Cry 3 (it used to be free when you got the card) ultra at 45 fps, and Metro Last Light High at 40 fps. So yeah.... it's about 10 times better than the GT 610. The GT 610 can't even play Battlefield Play 4 Free where as the AMD 7770 can play BF: P4F at about 140 fps. On the 3D Mark 11 benchmark, the GT 610 scores a 560 where as the 7770 scores 3098. On Passmark, the 610 scores 344 and the 7770 scores 2155. So, basically, the AMD 7770 scores a ~7 times higher score than the 610. In short, the GT 610 is about as powerful as my $300 laptop.
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-7770-vs-GeForce-GT-610
This is a comparison of the two cards, and the GT 610 has no advantage over the AMD 7770. Trust me, I know what I am talking about. And if you're getting the AMD 7770, also get the CX 430M power supply.

JUST GET IT

If the one you currently have is too weak, which it probably is because you have a GT 610, your computer will basically explode (boom boom) and you'll have to replace the entire computer. You can tell what type of power supply you have by opening the side panel of you computer. Then, you'll see this box on the top or bottom of the back of the computer. It's where the electric plug is. If the power plug is on the top, then the power supply (PSU) is on the top. If the power plug is on the bottom, it's on the bottom of the case. Then, look at the power supply for some kind of label or identifying tag thing that MIGHT say what wattage it is on the side. If not, look for the make and model of the power supply and put it on the forum and I can do some research.
btw, where did you get this computer?

OK... we have a bit of a problem. This PSU is advertised as a 500W power supply. But, this is false advertising. Basically, this company is selling fake power supplies. SO, you'll have to get a new one: the Corsair CX 430M (the one I keep telling you about).
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139049&Tpk=cx%20430m
This thing is modular, meaning that you plug everything INTO the power supply, cutting down on the amount of wires in your system and improving airflow. Corsair is also one of the most trustworthy companies I know of.

Oh no... another Cyber Power. I had one, and it pretty much blew up even with liquid cooling. Anyway, the PSU definitely won't work with the 7850. I recommend the CX 500M power supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139050
And if I were getting a 7850 I would get this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102998
Sapphire has the best cooling and it performs the best. You're looking to spend around $220. If you don't want to spend that much, get the AMD 7770 or 7790. Both are really amazing cards for substantially less

I am sorry I keep taking your answers and tuning them into more questions but I am not looking to spend too much as I have no job. I would appreciate a well priced setup PSU and Graphics card that you think would be best for me. I've had like 5 people tell me different things that I should get. I just need to know which of these items I should purchase to enhance my computer to make games perform much better on the one I have now. I just want to say to you in advance that I am extremely grateful that you are helping me out. Thanks.

As I said before, get the AMD 7770 and a CX 430M.
