So I am building a new rig i7 4770, amd hd 7950 vapor x, 16gb RAM trident X 7-8-8-24, sabertooth mobo.

I have had my 27" p2770HD to complement my e8500 rig for a while now and I am very happy with it. The colors are great, and i like the 5ms response time, I DONT want to deal with a higher value than 5ms.

I have INTENSE lighting in my studio which cannot be mitigated, which means that I must have some anti-glare in my next screen.

I am looking for a screen between 27-32 inches with equal or greater responsiveness and color quality to the P2770HD that I am replacing.

Will I be happy with the Asus 1440p monitor? I'm really not sure about the korean monitors, auria, or overlord tempest. Can anyone convince me?

This screen should be good for gaming and movies, but I also need to be able to read lots of smallish text in simultaneusly open windows for work.
Thank you guys, I have always found that this is the most helpful forum on the net.

Every 2560 x 1440 monitor will be 27"
Every 2560 x 1600 monitor will be 30"
I recently bought a NIXEUS VUE 30" 2560 x 1600 monitor which which I am very pleased.
It is sort of a compromise, Korean parts with USA support.
The display is perfect, no dead pixels. The screen has n0 glare, even in a bright room, but I would not call it matte either.
You can buy it at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-Vue-2560x1600-WQXGA-Monitor/dp/B00CHDHE0W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1376450450&sr=8-2&keywords=nixeus
The specs say 8ms grey to grey. But there is no standard on how to measure that.
Do you have a graphics card that could drive such a monitor at 120FPS?
Probably not. Many games cap at 60fps anyway. 60fps gives you 16ms to change so I...

Thanks for the reply. There are a lot of monitors with around 8ms. The Apple Thunderbolt even has 12ms, as do several of the high end dells! I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I like a good BF3 round now and then, is the difference between 5 and 6, or 5 and 8 noticeable? I'm sure 12 wouldn't be so nice.

NIXEUS also sells a 27" 2560 x 1440 version which I imagine would serve you well too:
