Sorry if this has been asked before but what are the upgrade options for this machine Id like a better Video card and a sound card. trying to get a correct answer out of Dell is next to impossible :(

Solution
I would rather get the GTX 760, with this model : http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DHW4HXY/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?tag=pcpapi-20.
For the power supply, I recommend you changing to this one : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=.

was worried about the PS being only rated for 460W none of the suggested graphic cards Dell endorses seem to be very good. Was wondering if I needed to upgrade the PS and if so with what? a 660ti? or to put it another way Id like a solid card for about $200~300.00

thanks

Mostly WOW but I do like Bioshock infinte im a gamer I use a single 21 inch monitor though 1680X 1050

was thinking the GTX 660 ti might be the best i can do without a new PSU but im not sure if it would be required or not, neither am I sure there isnt a better card for about the same cost that works with a 460WPSU

thanks in advance

The GTX 660 TI is a good card and it should work with that power supply.

I upgraded to an Nvidia 660 OC 2GB, but Bioshock infinite worked fine with old 645 OEM card, and I really can't tell the difference.
I had to disable Secure boot in the BIOS to get my computer to boot up with the 660.
My power supply is at it's limits now, and I ordered a 700 watt supply, because I want to put in a second 1 Tb HD, and a 240 Gb SSD.
I don't know a lot about the 660 TI, but you can get a remanufactured 660 OC 2 GB for around $160, and probably not that much difference.
A 660 TI is probably going to cost around $240, and you don't need it for Bioshock infinite, the 645 works fine.
If your computer has the 635 GPU, I can send you my old 645, you only pay shipping, probably cost you around $8-10.
You really don't need to go nuts on a GPU to play Bioshock infinite, and you definitely don't need a 770 or 780.
Just post here if you have the 635, if you have the 645 you are in good shape.

I just ordered a new Dell XPS 8700 from a sale for their signature event. It has the 635. If you don't mind, I would love taking the 645 off your hands.

Do you really need to upgrade the power supply to add two new drives? I have a Dell 8700 with 1 SDD, 1 SSDHybrid, and 1 HDD. It has the 645 OEM card but I wanted to upgrade too, to the 660 2gb or 3 gb......

If you have not upgrade....try the new 750ti no need to upgrade the power supply. I can play Bioshock on ultra with it.

I have the Dell XPS 8700 with the 460 PSU and I have been playing BF4 with a MSI Twin Frozor 660ti GPU for about 6 months now and have never had a single issue. I don't know if it could handle more than that, I may try a 770ti eventually. Very happy right now though, no issues playing BF4 on ultra 1080p and Watch Dogs on High 1080p.

And yes I also had to disable the secure boot in order to get it to work. I had an annoying message notifying me that secure boot mode was turned off on my windows desktop, but that went away after some windows updates I believe.
