Flickering Pixels on a New PC, I Don't Know What to Do.

I keep getting these weird green pixels flickering all over the place on my screen. It's odd because it is only when I have certain images on the screen. It's not that noticeable during games or anything like that, it is more just annoying. If I put a solid color on the screen, I can't see them at all.

Any ideas as to what could be causing it?

After looking around a bit I found that if I take a screenshot and see the issue, it must be the graphics card? I took a screenshot and saw no pixel errors in the image, so it must be the monitor or a connection? Anyway I can fix this?

Using Windows 8 64-bit.

Green flickering pixels makes me think of an unstable overclock. I know your GPU is factory OC'd, but it doesn't look like any one else has the issue with that card. I would suggest you try to borrow a gpu from a friend to test in your rig for pixel flickering. You may want to hook your rig up to a different monitor or tv to make sure it's not the monitor. I would also try another DVI or HDMI cable.

So I've tried a couple different cables, and the same results. But I rolled back the driver and they went away, is it a driver issue then?

What drivers are you using?

Since the issue doesn't show up when you're doing anything but gaming (right?) that leads me to suspect either bad shader drivers or a card with failing VRAM.

It wouldn't be the monitor or connection, I wouldn't think, because it doesn't happen all the time - but go ahead and plug that monitor and that cable into a laptop or friends' computer to check me on that.

Went away for sure? Then of course it was a driver issue. Just avoid the one that gives you problems and don't worry about it - upgrade to the next stable release and see if that fixes it.

(A whole bunch of us have had various issues with the latest nvidia drivers, so it's not just you.)

Yup, completely disappeared. But that is with it running on the "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" driver. I tried the most recent beta driver and it has the same issues. Makes me a bit worried it won't get resolved.

Going to try the driver on the graphics card's website, it is a slightly older version.

...don't use a beta driver, as it probably won't have the bugfix yet, and don't go with the ones on the graphics cards' website - it will come bundled with a bunch of useless stuff.

Just go to the driver downloads options, legacy and beta like you're able to find already, and just look at the older options. (Don't select beta only, select both of them.)

Use the newest WHQL driver that fixes the issue. Then just wait and try the latest (stable!) releases every few months or so to see if the problem has resolved.
