Graphics card turns on, screen stays black

After installing my gigabyte geforce gtx 660ti to my gigabyte z77x-d3h motherboard, I had a problem. The computer turns on and is fine without the graphics card installed, but the problems occur when I put it in. Everything turns on, fans, etc. But nothing comes up on the screen from the motherboard video input. Any ideas?

P.s, I haven't tried making the graphics card run to the monitor. I am running windows 7. Intel 3770k, 8 gigs of ram and the motherboard is said in the question.

Also make sure you're putting it in an at least 8x speed slot. Nvidia...

What PSU do you have? If you haven't got a strong enough PSU that could be the problem. Try reinstalling the cables that run to the GPU. Also try having the GPU in other PCIe slots if that MBO has any more.

I have a 620watt antec psu, the cables are running to the graphics card and is in a pci express slot, I also tried it in the nvidia sli slot to see if that would work.

Any other ideas? I dont have any drivers for it since the nvidia driver installer wouldn't install it because it wasn't in.

That PSU should be sufficient... You know there's always a chance you got a defective card. I know it sucks but it is what it is. Do you push the card in the slot until it clicks?

I push it until it won't go in any more, but I'll try again and see if I hear a click. The slot I am trying to put it in is a PCI Express 3.0 slot, if that's any help.

Also make sure you're putting it in an at least 8x speed slot. Nvidia cards don't work in a 4x slot. (I'm fairly certain that you're putting it in a right slot)
