Hi guys,
So i just bought the Xonar Essence STX. Let me cut to the chase, I installed the card onto my system, plugged in the 4-pin connector, booted up the system, went to Asus Support to download the latest driver compatible with Win8, execute the driver. The installer first prompts me to make sure that I have the internal power source connected before continuing, I select Yes, and went ahead with the install, agreed with the terms and agreements, and the error message tells me that I do not have the soundcard in the system, and the installer therefore could not go any further. From there I tried troubleshooting, but to no avail. I went to Device Manager and discovered that the problem device is the PCI Standard PCI-to-PCI bridge. I don't know what that meant. Clicked on properties, resources, and it says Standard PCI-to-PCI bridge cannot start because it has a problem (or something along the lines of that, it DOES NOT, however, say that it does not have enough resources. And just to isolate the problem I disabled the onboard soundcard, but that didn't help either. The device itself was built pretty flimsily, with a screw on the PCB that is not fastened properly and the PCB screw hole is already worn down that the screw cannot fasten itself onto the PCB. I am not sure if this is a problem with my motherboard or soundcard. Please help!
Sorry for the long message guys, i am desperate in resolving this issue.
THANKS!
