I'm only wondering at this moment, I'm possibly looking at selling my rig in the description, to get something pre built as my rig currently doesn't like my operating system, I'd also if possible like an estimate at how much I should ask.

Thanks.

I agree, if everything is in working order then ~$250 USD would be appropriate. I work for a nonprofit that sells computers dirt cheap for low income families and we sell similar systems as yours for ~$150-200. But as you are not a nonprofit and selling to the general public then you can probably sell it for a little more.
Are the specs of your machine the ones in your signature? or is it a different box?

Computer equipment that is over 1 generation old does not hold value very well. Expect to take a major loss compared to whatever you paid for it originally. Newer parts are typically much nicer but with the same or lower price point, which makes old equipment very difficult to sell.

Another issue is one of locality. If you sell it local then the buyer needs to understand that you are not going to provide support for the system (they always expect it for some reason). If shipping it whole, be sure that everything is tied down properly. things like CPU heat sinks like to pop off during shipping and bounce around in the case causing all sorts of issues, so pack it as good as you can with something inside the case to keep those bits in place, and include proper insurance in your shipping price.

All of that said, while I would not make a habbit of selling old computers personally, I have done it with success on both ebay and craigs list. The biggest thing I have found is that it is much easier (and more profitable) to sell individual parts rather than a whole working system. But sometimes for really old parts, or if you do not have original packaging for your individual parts, it is easier to throw them into a working computer and sell it as is.

Yep the system is the one in my sig, I'm looking at upgrading to a pre built that's a bit better on an intel processor, but I'd like an actual estimate of what I should be selling it for, this would give me a idea of what I should look for, the only thing I won't sell with it is my 1 bt external drive.
