Hi. What's the difference between 1600mhz ram and say 2400 mhz ram in terms of gaming performance?

Expect around a 2% difference in memory performance going from 1600 to 2400; 8gb is the new standard for gaming PCs since we multi-task. I am just using 9.5GB idle right now out of 16gb.

So in reality, not a lot, the only signicant difference between the two is the price

You wouldn't notice the difference in gaming.

in other words, dont bother with fast ram unless you have a APU based system

Thanks all for the replys. I have 8GB Gskill 1600xmp. Recently bought it for 65 bucks. Good to know I didn't buy the wrong thing
