Im new to building computers and would love some advice on which parts to get.

budget: under $1000

(Have not bought parts yet)
overclocking? no

usage of the build - mostly gaming, but would like to use it for art and animation.

The very best you can buy.
Would play any game out there on Ultra with 60+ FPS smooth and also would let you do anything you would want to do. Awesome CPU and GPU. By the way, I chose that memory over Corsair Vengeance as I have found it to be somewhat better but you can opt for Corsair Vengeance too if you like those. Both are great.

Don't forget to OC CPU to at least 4.2 GHz (Come on, its just for once for added boost in performance) but its fine if you don't want it for some reason, although there is no harm in 4.2 Ghz.
