I recently built my first computer, it has no graphics card as of right now. (there will be one in the future) but, i like the way that vga out looks on my screen rather than hdmi and vga works totally fine while not playing games. besides LoL. but when ever i try to play something a bit more graphically demanding like tf2 my screen says "no signal" and i need to switch to the hdmi out in order for me to see anything on my screen. could this be because the vga out on my mobo doesnt support a certain direct x or something?
More about : vga start play tf2 switch hdmi

Just out of curiosity, why do you prefer the look of VGA over HDMI? I would think HDMI would be cleaner and have no noise in the signal because it's digital. If your HDMI looks grainy for some reason check your resolution or look into sending back your graphics card as defective. the problem i have with it is that all of the letters like the text i'm trping right now have annoying colors around it when i use hdmi. i've literally tried everything to fix it but i cant. i'm thinking it's my displa because i'm using an led tv not an actual monitor
heres a some pictures:
without hdmi

Yeah that doesn't look very good. The fact that your using a TV shouldn't matter, I would look into returning the card as defective.

Have you tried a different HDMI cable? If that doesn't work then yes I believe your HDMI port on the TV may be messed up. The reason your VGA connection doesn't like your resolution is because if you read your TV manual it might say the max res through the VGA port is something like 1366X768.
