That's what they estimate it at. Like all estimates, it's what someone is willing to spend.
I run my own business and the ".com" of my company name is take, so I got the .ca instead, being in Canada, it doesn't bother me.
I get spammed by some company trying to sell me the ".com" for $5000. I really don't care, I would change the name of my company before spending $5000 on a website. In this case, someone thinks it's worth $5000 but they will never get that from me, and unless another company opens up with the same name as me, they can say it's worth $5000 all day long until the cows come home, to me it's worth $12.95 or $8.95 during a godaddy sale and that's it.
It's like watching the pawn shows on TV. Someone comes in with an item and says "I saw someone on Ebay selling the same coin for $10,000. I want $10,000" for it. Just because someone has it listed at $10,000, doesn't mean it's worth anything near that. Just what someone is asking.
