So I just built my first system and I started having problem with my graphics card. When I was playing starcraft 2 with the settings Nvidia recommends (which is pretty much high to ultra) the picture will randomly tint to blue and then correct it's self, not so much a flicker just on for a few seconds then back for normal for awhile. Then this started happening with HD video.

if I watch a video, it will tint then get better. If I watch the video NOT in full screen only the video will tint all other parts of my screen are fine. but just recently I was render some 3D animation out of Cinema4D and editing HD video and my monitors just went black, like the computer went to sleep. the computer remain running but couldn't get it to turn the monitors back on.

I reset and it appears ok. So I started thinking is it possible that my system is just under powered? According to pc power calculator (http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp) my systems needs a minimum of 604 watts and recommends a 750 PSU and I am running an 850 corsair.

what do you all think?

the power supply is enough to run 2 gtx 780's. You have another problem. I would try different drivers first. Please list your full system specs and operating system.

ok here is a link to my system. I have also talked to Nvdia, checked the drivers even installed the beta and no luck.

You might want to ensure you have your card well seated, you may also want to blow compressed air in the slot and that the pins on the card are clean. I've found that Nvidia cards will show incorrect colors when not fully seated. Usually just missing a color all together.

ok, well you have a server more or less, so it wouldn't surprise me if there is something not compatible about putting a gtx780 with it. Updating the motherboard BIOS may help. Check your video codecs installed too, since you say its happening with video type programs. Might be a problem with a codec. There is a free tool i came across a while ago that checks video codecs for problems: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/codec_tweak_tool.ht...
I remember a few years ago after installing k-lite codec pack, some games would go to blank screen during a cut scene, heard all the sound but blank screen. Did my head in for ages figuring out what was wrong, then I uninstalled k-lite and problem was gone.

So I talked to Nvidia and Asus about my gtx 780 and they both agree I need a new card, so I am going to get that replaced. However I have tracked down that the program causing my system to fail is Cinema 4D. it is a 3D rendering program and is very CPU intensive. it is dying in the middle of the renders. So just for the track record though died two times in a row during a render, then 2 successful renders, then died again during a render. Does this help? The system failing now doesn't sound like a graphics card issue, since rendering isn't really using my graphics card.

ok, dying during rendering, i would start to look at an overheating issue. get hwmonitor it can monitor all temps, motherboard, cpu, gpu etc. It could still be something random like a psu fault or motherboard fault, but check temps first under load.

Ok I ran a render and the temp never went above 38c
