Hi Guys,

I picked up a 2nd 7950 in the hopes I would get some more FPS out of most games. To my horror - upon getting Crossfire enabled, I am not really seeing much of an increase (Apart from in Bioshock Infinite and Metro:LL)

The worst one of all is Crysis 3 - on High with FXAA will run around avg 20 FPS, while running it with one card gives me almost a constant 60 FPS.

I have tried using the 13.8 Beta drives, and the 13.4 Stable ones - doesn't seem to make much difference. I also have the CAP's installed and ULPS set to 0.

Im pretty bummed about the actual LOSS in performance for most games, so if someone could point me in the right direction for this i would be very grateful!

My System Specs are:
Intel i5 2500k OC @ 4.2ghz
2x Sapphire AMD Radeon HD7950's (Been tesed at stock and OC boost)
4gb RAM
120GB SSD
ASUS P8Z68-V LX Motherboard
850W PSU

(I have only listed things I think could have an effect on performance, so no HDD's or ODD's ect included in the list)

I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help even in the slightest! Thanks Guys.

Solution
*1: The PCIe x16_2 slot shares bandwidth with PCIe x1_1 slot, PCIe x1_2 slot..... 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black)

BIOS 4105 (assuming you have win-7/64)http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z68V_LX/#support_Download_30
P8Z68-V LX BIOS 4105
1.Improve system stability.
2.Enhance compatibility with some PCIE device.

Your running @ 4X in x-fire. Sorry not the best X=fire board. you need full 16X16 lanes in (dual) x-fire to get the results you expect.

So pretty much, grab a new motherboard? I dont feel too comfortable upgrading the bios... I tried it on an old board once and ended up bricking the thing... Unless is sort of an easy process thats sort of "Next, next next, finished"

Im sure when I checked it out before I got the card , the mobo is 16x8? Or do i need the new bios to take advantage of it?

Thanks for your swift replies guys! Its a big help!

Okay, thanks for your help guys. Looks like next pay day is going to be new motherboard day too...

Im looking to either upgrade to Haswell (Not decided yet) or just get a new board and a watercooler for the CPU.

Anyone got any good board suggestions for both sockets that would fit my needs? I would like to OC, and would like to get the most out of my x-fire.

Alternately, I could just sell both my 7950's and get a single, pretty decent card?

So many choices :( Im pretty stuck with what to do now...

That is what I would do, if you can get them sold easily. If not, then just get another board, no point in spending money on Haswell.
This board will do well, updated chipset too.
