Windows 7 Pro 32 bit OS. I have a 4 year old Dell Optiplex 960 SFF that I just purchased on Ebay with an internal 3.5 inch SATA 150 hard drive. Looking to buy a new SATA drive but don't want to spend a lot since it's an old machine. Understand I will not get SATA III transfer rates. That's fine. While the computer was built in Nov of 2009, it came with a 7200rpm (unclear about buffer size at the moment) 6L25OMO Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250 GB drive that was built in 2005, that replaced the original drive, for some reason. I don't need a lot of space on my C drive. Thinking about a SSD and 32 GB should be fine, but maybe I should get 64 GB minimum? I can figure that out later. My current C drive usage is about 22 GB and I keep files on an external USB flash drive. Wondering about what SSD to purchase.
Or maybe I'm fine with a 7200 rpm drive? Current speed of operation is fine with me.
Looking for a recommended quality drive.
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Still not sure what to do. Looks like around $60 for a new 3.5 inch WD or Seagate SATA III 7200 rpm drive, or around $120 for a 64 GB (more space than I need) Crucial m4 SSD from TigerDirect, with all of the parts so I can fit a 2.5 inch drive in my 3.5 inch holding space.

SSD

And I still find how to post things in this forum very confusing!!!!
