I can't connect my new computer to the internet using ethernet cord.

Hello I just built my new desktop and everything is working fine. The only problem I have now is I can't connect to the internet using the ethernet cord. I click on trouble shoot and they say "Can't detect Network Adapter" I don't have a network adapter, I am trying to connect through the ethernet but they won't let me connect. Do i have to change anything in the setting?

The network port on the motherboard is 'the network adapter'.
Did you install the ethernet drivers for that motherboard port?

Did you install the LAN driver from the disk that came with your new board?

Is the LAN driver installed?
Check in Device manager if there's a yellow mark attached to the Ethernet device.

Oh so sorry i forgot about the disk. I am going to put in the disc now.
