Hello

I have the following cards narrowed down. I wish to know if the difference in price is worth from the 780 to the 760 w/ 4GB. Please recommend others taht are comparable in case these are the wrong ones I have choose in their category.

Thx!

I think it was best answered a while ago, when someone said that the video card you are looking at(760/770) will be severely underpowered anyways when you will need more than 2gb's of VRAM. So I would get one of those same cards, but the 2gb version(exception being the 780 because I don't think they come less than 3gb's) for right now, and for the reasonable foreseeable PC future. The eVga ACX cooled cards are really good, but MSI and Gigabyte and Asus have similar products for possibly less money. Decide which chipset you want, 760/770/780 and we can give you a suggestion then.

Well I was looking at the 660 before but my budget was able to become a little bigger so I wanted to get a long lasting card as an investment so that I don't have to change it anytime soon. My husband, whom the card is for, plays very high graphic games at high resolutions, so I wanted to get the 4GB because I thought it will serve him for a few years and not become obsolete. However, I don't know anything about base clock speeds and so forth so I wanted to know which card that is a little more expensive was the best now so I don't WASTE money on aother card again down the road :(

Thanks

As has been said 2GB is more than enough, and unless you SLI them it's not fast enough to run in a scenario that needs more.

And from what I've seen, even in SLI it's a dubious improvement over just getting two 2gb cards. Unless you are gaming on three monitors, you just don't need more than 2gb's of Vram.

I agree with the 770 though, just a 2gb version. It offers excellent performance and doesn't kill your wallet like a 780 does. Depending on the deal though, might be good to look at a 7970ghz editon from Radeon. The 3 free games might tickle your fancy too.
