Router Lag Issue

Hey community,
For the past week and a half or so, I've been having lag spikes in-game. I have a wifi-modem and thought that the router might be malfunctioning, so I changed the modem to bridged mode and connected it to a spare router I had lying around (Linksys E1200); however, that didn't solve the problem. Could anybody help me?

I pinged google and my router (192.168.1.1) through cmd, and this is the result for my router. Also, ping times from google spiked (as high as ~2000ms) at the same times that the router spiked.

Yeah, via WiFi. We don't have a home phone, and that's never been a problem.

Well...WiFi is very finicky. Multiple things can cause momentary spikes.
What does it do when you are hardwired into the router?
 
This is the key reason everyone recommends you do not use wireless to play games. You get random interference which causes packet retransmission which causes delays. In older routers retransmissions in the wireless caused so much processor load for the router to retransmit packets it even affected the wired transmission. Luckily newer routers have lots of CPU power but you cannot fix the problem of having to retransmit data until you get a clean copy. It takes time to do this and games and live video do not tolerate delays of tiny fractions of a second.
