Hey guys! I just put together this awesome gaming pc and was really excited to get my graphics card in the mail and then BAM! installation issues!

Ok so the graphics card requires two 8 pin PCI express power connectors but the PSU that I have in the case has an 8 pin PCI-E and a 6 pin PCI-E. Also the GPU needs 42 amps on the 12V rail. The PSU is a TR2-700W from Thermal Take and came with the Thermal Take Chaser A31 case.

I'm wondering if I need a different PSU or can I get away with using cable splitters.

Thanks

Personally I'd advise against using cable splitters. I may be paranoid but experimenting with GPU Power supply can be pretty dangerous, I've almost roasted my old 460 trying to do it.

Normally these kind of PSUs come with additional 2-pin connectors in case you need more than 6. For example my GPU uses 1x 6-pin and 1x 8-pin, I only have 2 6-pins but I have 2 2-pins to go with that. Is there anything?

Right on. Only one of the two PCI connections has the additional two pin connector. Really frustrating! Im just two pins short, but I'd rather not fry a $500 GPU. I think Im just going to buy a 1000W PSU.
