Hey Folks,

I am putting together my new system and wanted to get some opinions on a few components. My build is as follows:

- MB: Asus Sabertooth z87
- CPU: Intel i5 4670k
- RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 2133
- System HD: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB
- PSU: Corsair HX750
- Case: Corsair Carbide 500R White

For Video Card i am stuck between the Asus, MSI, & Gigabyte GTX770 offerings. I like Asus just because their components are always so well built and use quality materials, and I tend to go for consistency among components so with the Asus motherboard I am tempted to go that way. However, they don't offer a 4GB card yet, and I want the option of adding more/larger monitors down the line.

Gigabyte seems to be the next best reviewed, but it looks to be neck-and-neck with MSI. Neither looks as sturdy (i believe neither comes with a backplate) as the Asus card, but again both have had pretty good reputations in recent times. Any opinions or experiences that might help?

Regarding the PSU, I am wondering if I should return the HX750 for an HX850 in case I want to go SLI in the future. It looks like the 750 should be able to just barely handle that load with overclocking, but don't know if it makes sense to make the change so I have some extra head-room there...

Thanks everybody!

I would definitely get an 850w over 750w if you think you'll want to go SLI in the future. And you are right, the MSI http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127747&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= and Gigabyte http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125462&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= and even eVga http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130945&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= will all benchmark and perform about the same. Either one you choose will work great for you, so I'd stick with what brand...

The price jump from 770 to 780 is too much for me right now, I think I will be fine for a while with the single 770, but I am assuming that I will want to go SLI down the road...

Thanks Sword! The more I look into it I think you are right, going to return the 750 for an 850.
Still a little conflicted on the Asus 2GB 770 vs one of the other brands' 4GB 770 models, but i'll just have to pull the trigger one way or the other. I am a big fan of Asus, but I feel like the added memory on the video card will become more and more necessary in the near future as larger and higher res displays become cheaper and cheaper...
