My old motherboard, broke down after a few years. But now i want buy a working one. And it came to me to upgrade other parts like cpu. Since i have Dual core, I was questioning about a quad core. And I found one.

Here

New 200$? No thank you, I'm better off buying new hardware and I don't have that much money. So my question is, is wise to buy this CPU with these parts?

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-EG31M-S2

CPU: Not quite sure, Intel Dual core 2. something GHz. (If needed, i'll try to find the exact CPU)

Ram: 4GB DDR2 no idea what it's clocked at. Mobo is maxed at 800.

Video: Gainward HD Radeon 4670 512MB

Btw, pls don't say, that I should upgrade completely. I don't have the money. I just really want to play the new CoD Ghosts in 720p, doesn't matter what quality just 60 FPS.

Getting that quad core is fine but when you said that your motherboard broke down have you replaced it yet and the Gigabyte that you listed is it or is the Gigabyte board the one that broke down. Can you clarify that?
If the board that you listed is a new one that you replaced the one that broke then yes that Core 2 Quad on Amazon will work on that board.

It's the broken down one. I thinking of buying the same one for 50 bucks. Or this one for well 50 bucks. Not sure about buying it yet, the specs check out but I have a friend with PC parts that willing to trade, I haven't heard from yet.

Yeah, I would have to but new RAM. I currently have DDR2 RAM.

But actually decided to buy different parts. I know this is the CPU sub forum, but in case you wanted to know what I might buy: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1s8l3
I really appreciated your answer. Thanks!

I do understand that you are limited financially so your budget is low but when building a computer for gaming there are a few things that you need more than others and all I'm going to do is post them for you with the understanding that you may not be able to buy these parts.

The video card is the most important component in a gaming rig and for a low budget a HD7770 or HD7790 would be the lowest I would go.
The ram could be 4gb but if you have 32 bit Windows then there's nothing you can do about that.
An Intel CPU is much better at gaming than AMD.
However based on your budget some of these things are just not obtainable for you.

I didn't see a power supply listed so I assume that you have one you are going to use.
