Hello All,
I know I am building a new PC with an older motherboard. I've just been wanting to get it done with before I move on with my next build.

I have run into a dilemma...I have a 780i motherboard
core 2 extreme processor
Corsair CPU cooler
Gtx 760ti gpu
128gb ssd
1 tb hdd
4x2 ram
Cd drive
850w psu

I have everything connected and in the right place I believe. I have a monitor connected into the dvi port on the gpu and when I turn the PC on nothing shows up on the monitor. In fact the monitor just stays in power save mode. It says to hit any key or mouse button to turn power save mode off. Nothing happens when I hit keys or the mouse.
When I plug in the mouse and keyboard the lights on both turn on for a split second then shut off. They never stay on. So I am wondering if anybody has any suggestions on what it might be.
I can't access the bios so just need to figure out how to get something on to the monitor.
Thank you.

So I figured out part of my problem. It was an obvious newbie build problem. The ram wasn't seated correctly. But now I get the bios screen to pop up and the PC shuts down after loading the bios.
