If I disable CCC, does CrossfireX shut down with it?

I need CCC disabled in order to run Doom 3 w/ Sikkmod+Wulfen+Monoxead. But on the other hand, Doom 3 w/ all of those mods can be incredibly demanding, and as such, I really need both cards running.

I have been playing it, and the fps only seems to be around 30 - 40, indicative of performance with a single 6970. Furthermore, MSI Afterburner shows GPU2 at max temp 63° after a play session, with GPU1 at only 50° (slightly more than what it idles at). GPU2 max usage is 88%, GPU1 max usage only 6%.

That leads me to believe that Crossfire is not being properly utilized with CCC disabled, at least not for Doom 3 w/ Sikkmodd+Wulfen+Monoxead. And it's a shame, because the game really is beautiful, even by today's standards.

My question is twofold:

Does a dual-card configuration work with modded Doom 3, and maybe the fact that CCC is disabled isn't my problem?

Is there another software utility that I can use to properly implement CrossfireX in place of CCC?

Thanks.

I am surprised having CCC running is your problem, I never notice a change in performance with it on or off.

Anyways your problem might be that Doom 3 I am sure was not optimized for multiple graphics cards. While running in SLI/Crossfire can help in any game, you get a much larger performance boost when the game is actually optimized to run on multiple graphics cards. That being said you should still see some improvement.

However going by what you said I don't think that is the problem. Regardless of in crossfire, out of crossfire, on at least one o the GPU's you should have 100% usage. By chance is your CPU bottlenecking the system?

No, it's the i5 2500k and it's overclocked at 4.40GHz - no bottleneck there. The Sandy Bridge architecture is a few years old but still more than enough for what I need.

The reason I had to disable CCC in order to properly run Doom 3 is because Sikkmodd isn't compatible with it - and I am worrying if temporarily disabling CCC causes CrossfireX to temporarily disable, as well.

If it does, then I am going to have to find a way to force Crossfire manually or find another utility that is compatible with Doom 3 Sikkmod. That's where I need help.

Yea you shouldn't have any bottleneck there. Still strange though, because it seems like there is some kind of bottleneck causing the GPU to run at full.
Owell, let me do a few searches and I will see if I can't find you a second utility or an answer to if it disables Crossfire.
