Sniper Series 8GB PC3-14900 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 4GB) With Asus M5A97 LE R2.0

Putting together a new computer with these as well as an FX-6300 processor. I started installing Windows 7 home 64bit but I seem to be running into random problems like the blue screen of death and currently re-installing it. I haven't manually adjusted anything but do I need to manually re-adjust the Ram?

EDIT: Ok so once it finishes installing and restarts and goes into the Windows it gives me the blue screen of death. What should I do to fix this?

  1. If DRAM at 1866 raise CPU/NB voltage to 1.25 and DRAM voltage up + 0.05 if no joy with that, your 6300 prob can't handle 1866 (most can't), try them at 1600

    Still blue screen of death.
When you say 1600 are the rest of the settings the same as you said?

Also I change cpu and nb voltage to manual mode to do the 1.25v?
  3. Initially yes, if it can handle the 1600 (should) then can prob lower voltages and/or tighten timings

    Just want to clarify

    1. So change DRM to 1600 but leave all the other settings to Auto or default?

    2. If no good then change to 1600 but do you have recommendations for the lower voltages and timings?
  5. Try 8-9-8-28 initially

Question. It turns out it was a faulty GPU that was causing the blue screen.

Now Windows 7 is installed but I've left everything on default.

Should I still do what you originally said and adjust the DRAM to the 1866?
