I need hard drive help

I am going to college soon and i build myself a nice itx gaming build to take with me. the problem is i have one HDD and one copy of windows 7 but when I plug my current HDD in my mouse and keyboard dont work unless I am in safe mode. I want to keep this Hdd to take back and forth with me in college but have the ability to plug it into both computers.

The issue with swapping the drive back and forth is that your hardware is just different enough that the drivers for one don't work fully on the other. Plus you are just begging for that drive to get damaged during transport. The idea of just buying a second drive is a much better idea, and you need a second license of Windows in any case.

OK sir then you would have to have 2 of the same builds and that may be impossible to do so anyone? chime in here WINDOWS 7 XP AND 8 requires one copy per system ie- computer sometimes you cant have your cake and icing al - tho it be nice look around the net for more info and help. Good luck.

I think what i am going to do is go down to the local frys and pick up a cheap HDD and back up my important files such as school work and pics and reinstall windows on my main HDD.
