Just installed a new HD, not showing the extra space in C: drive?

Question, I just assumed if I installed a new hard drive, I used a clone of my previous setup to install everything, after installing and verifying Windows C:
It's showing the same as before. Can this be due to the clone I used? I have 663gb unnallocated space on Windows C: drive is says when in Disk Management. But how can I apply say 700GB (or w.e it comes out to be) to Windows C: Drive and open another drive for the remaining space? I know how to create another drive with the unnallocated space by creating a simple volume. but that doesn't allow me to all it to a current drive?

Idk to be honest, I'm quite confused. I assumed it would automatically recognize the larger hard drive and add the space to windows c: drive by default? apparently I'm far off.

So how do I assign room to drive C and the left over to another drive?

Any advice would be appreciated, this is my first time replacing a hard drive.

I was using a Toshiba 320BG 5400
and upgraded for just space to a WD 1TB 5400. It's a laptop, 2.5" drive

Thank you,
Jon
