Hi I have an HP Compaq NC8430 (CNU7180M85) with a broken Harddrive.
I can't figure out which other HD I can buy an use i this computer.

The Broken HD is a Toshiba MK8034GSX ATA device.
I will like to have a bigger on - 120 GB or more and with 7200RPM in speed, if it is possible.

On this site - press on link :
Storage

I can read something about 100 GB 7200RPM SATA, but can I use this kind of HD ?

------------------------------

Then I have buy a new one, - Is the a guide how I clone the old to the new, and what I need to do it, cable maybe??
I have never trued this before..

Solution
Your original HD is a Toshiba 80 Gig 2.5" SATA drive. If it is completely broken, as you say, there will be no way to easily recover the contents.
You should get a 2.5" enclosure or other external SATA to usb connector. When you have verified that your original HD is ok you can buy just about any 2.5" SATA drive to use in your laptop. Take your original to the store and ask their advice.
Cloning a HD is not difficult. Tools like Clonezilla can do it for you, and it is free.
