i5 is also enough so yeah.
  2. even i5 2500k is enough for current and upcoming games.
  3. I wouldn't be so hasty; the next generation of games will be forced to make use of multithreading so as to make up for the downclocked AMD CPUs that are in them. It'd be a safer bet (Note; Future proofing DOES NOT EXIST) to get an 8320/8350, due to it having 8 cores just like the consoles' processors.

lol cores is not only the thing.
  5. To be honest mate, as it stands the i7 is great and all but it offers little more to framerates e.t.c in comparison to an i5. Plus I'd rather have an Ivybridge 3570K over a Haswell version at the moment in terms of thermal headroom.
  6. wow, thanks for all your answers i really appreciate this so much! :)
