Portable External Drive

Solution
I personally would Prefer Western Digital , i think they have USB 3.0 compatibility and their connecting cable is not like segate which can be taken off easily having used both i would go for WD , and their customer service is also good , they just replace the hdd if any fault occurs if ever.

Hey
Its matter of personal Preference

You can Sort the data in 2 Drives More effectively Like you can use One for Sole bakcup purposes of your computer, keep your Family Members Backup, Phone Backup of all etc.

While One can used for Storing Media like Games, pictures, movies etc

Having two of them can have one advantage is that you cant lend one to someone for some large data you require and keep one with you.

Its complete Matter of personal preference as both of them are external drives.

Seagate is much older entrant in India and Western digital is comparatively new here. I have good idea over Seagate but not over WD. This was the reason behind my confusion.
I have used 8 (from 4.3 Gb to 2TB) Seagate internal drives & 2 External HDD ( 1TB each) since 1999. I am going to buy a 1 or 2TB external HDD. Last 5 / 6 yrs WD became popular along with Seagate here in india.
But one incident drives me to purchase seagate drive once again. I just wanted to share it with you all.
I already had two external drives from Seagate one is 4 yrs old having five years warranty and another one is 3 yrs old with 2 yrs warranty. So my first drive is under warranty but second one is not under warranty. Power adaptor of my second drive (which is not under warranty) was not in working condition since last 1.5 yrs. But due to my laziness I haven’t visit any service centre. I have searched for an original Seagate adaptor just 6 months back. But it is not available in local market. Everybody was giving me suggestion to purchase a duplicate adapter which is easily available in local market. But I don’t want a duplicate for my drive.
Last week I wrote a mail to Seagate (discsupport@seagate.com : it is a global mail id) after explaining all and providing S/L No, I request them to give me some contact no from where I can purchase an original adapter. After receiving my mail they told me that they will courier the product absolutely free of cost. Yesterday I have received a brand new sealed product for my hdd whose warranty is already expired. Thanks to Seagate for their awesome support. It may be a small issue but I am overwhelmed.
After this incident I have decided to go with Seagate for one more time. This hdd also supports usb 3.0.

Thank you very much for your support.
