Hi all!
Im new here so bare with me.
i bought a new PC 2 years ago, and now want to swap out some components. This is my new rig.

Sapphire 7950 AMD Radeon OC edition
8350 fx AMD (want to overclock)
8 GB ram hyperion
GA-990FXA-UD3

So i bought the card, the cpu, and the mobo, and the ram. And im about to assemble my PC, but then i saw my Energon eps-650w PSU, and i actually never knew what brand i had as PSU. Now im asking you, will that PSU run this rig? With overclock... Since it's brand i've never heard of, i hope its decent. Dont wanna spend more money on new components... Already got over my budget lol.

Energon are poor units , read this ^ Don't risk your PC components on inferior hardware

I recommend an upgrade to the PSU , before you proceed with other upgrades.

Doing a quick google brought a variety of opinions, but the general consensus is that Energon will turn into Energone, I would buy a new, quality PSU from Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, XFX, etc... If that blows it's gonna cause a lot more in damages than just buying a decent one in the first place.

So i should just stick with the PSU? I'm just 'scared' of if it just ends up killing some of my components.. Even though i have 650w, its more than enough for my rig, but still the brand is just making me nervous...

So your saying it can run my rig without problems, but the PSU will fail faster because of the quailty?

It's easy to say to buy a new one, but i already went way over budget :(. I'm confused.

Oh well. I'll upgrade it then. Do you recommend any?

I was telling you to go with a new unit as well, and I would trust Blackbird more than I, so it's 2 to 1 for a new unit. And there is no guarantee that it won't damage other components if it fails, expensive/quality PSU's are designed with those protections, not cheap units.
