SARGE3019 :
ok i really planned on getting a new cpu, but won't be able to for a little bit and was about to get the gtx 770 and was wondering if i would be able to get at least most of the performance out of it before i upgraded?
Let me say this caveat to the advice given above:
If you're on a 60Hz monitor...you will not be able to perceive any bottlenecks under most circumstances. The potential issues they are referencing are situations where your GPU would produce frame rates that would far exceed such a monitor's capability of 60 FPS.
There may be some CPU heavy games, such as a few of the RTS variety or games like FC3 or Crysis 3, but outside of those, you shouldn't have a great deal of issues.
If you are on a 120Hz monitor, that changes things some...though you won't experience anything you could consider "unplayable" even with a slight performance deficit.
The 8350 is a great choice for an upgrade, but don't sweat using the 770 with your P2 X4 for now...it won't be a big deal. Much more than a 770 or a 7970 GHz and you might be in a different ballpark, but you should be somewhere round about the limit of what your P2X4 can do there. Your performance would certainly increase with an overclock though.
