Starting school for programming and want to build my own pc but being that I am new to this I could use some advice. I started to price out all the components but I get a little carried away with what I want vs what I actually will need. I want to build a system that will be good for the next couple years and then probably upgrading. I really need to stay under $1000 with monitor and everything.
Any suggestions?

Honestly I haven't decided what type of programming I want to do yet. Also I don't have any requirements for what programs to use. I'm just starting to get me feet wet so to speak. I am leaning towards the i7 but that's the only real interest I have. I'm open to suggestions
