PC fails to boot past MB splash screen, can't access bios I just lose display. I was playing a game and the system overheated then shutdown. I found the front fan had failed so it wasn't drawing in air and the case was boiling.

I left it for over an hour then started it up again with the side off...30 mins later it crashed and now it will lose the display at the MB splash screen, I can't access the bios at all or do anything.

I have removed all usb devices and the same problem, I have unplugged the HDD and same problem, I have swapped the RAM out (2 sticks @ 4mb each) and also completely removed, consistent beeps when I remove it all. I have also reset the cmos.

I have swapped out graphics card for one that uses a lot less power and still no joy.

I have reseated the processor and MB but still the same problem. Anyone have any idea's?

If possible, yes, try returning it for ruling out a power supply issue.

Then try taking the board outside the case. leave single RAM stick, graphics card, HDD, keyboard and mouse and see if still the same.
What components using?

Then it might be a board or a CPU issue. Try testing them at a local shop.

I have arranged for the board to go back tomorrow so will have to wait and see.
