Approximate Purchase Date: 4 Weeks
Budget Range: 1200 Before Rebates, I don't care for rebates and don't hassle with them
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming and Youtube
Are you buying a monitor: NO
Do you need to buy OS: NO
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg & Amazon
Location: Alabama, United States of America
Parts Preferences: Intel/NVIDIA
Overclocking: Yes
SLI or Crossfire: NO! I am not interested in microstuttering
Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 27"
Additional Comments: I would like to overclock the PC. I need to be able to run DayZ, Total War games, World of Warcraft with zero lag
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: The PC I am on right now will be a gift for my family and is not very good, only a a8-5600k with 8 gigs that doesn't meet the demands I need for games I love.
Questions: I would like to see this computer last for at least 2 years and be able to run games on playable and enjoyable settings.
I am kind of twisted on getting an i5 or an i7, I know that i5 is better for gaming since games do not utilize hyperthreading technology of the i7 but I read somewhere that game makers will be forced to use more cores due to the next-gen consoles...
Also - I have 7.1 G930 Surround Sound headset. Will I need to get a dedicated soundcard to get the highest quality sound or will the motherboard suffice?
Thanks so much!
