So, i am building a new pc and these are two suggestions I found from asking on here but im am not sure which is better for gaming. I will most likely be overclocking as well and the FX-6300 is cheaper than the FX-6350 on amazon

More about : 6300 6350

Best solution

If you are overclocking then get the 6300. The money you save will give you a better cooler or a better GPU. The 6350 is priced similarly to the 8320 with is much superior.

The primary difference would be that that 6350 is higher binned. This means, essentially, that the silicon used for the 6350 is of slightly better yield.

While the 6300 should overclock fine, if you want to get an outrageous overclock like something around 5.0 GHz, the 6350 would give you better chances for that.

However, if you are going to be satisfied for something in the neighborhood of 4.2-4.6 GHz then the 6300 would be absolutely fine there.

I know that this is an old thread but wouldn't the 6350 need an aftermarket cooler to be clocked to 5 GHz? Same with the 6300. I am not sure how much an aftermarket cooler would cost but I think the CPU price + the after market cooler would yield the same price as the next higher AMD CPU. So wouldn't it just be better to just buy the higher CPU?
