I'm thinking about doing the humble origin bundle and I am afraid that it is too good to be true. Also when you pay the $5 or whatever dollars to you get all the games including Battlefield? It said I have to pay for shipping when I thought that they were downloadable content. Is it way too good too be true?

It is totally legit. They have been around for quite some time now. I have actually purchased this bundle, and yes you get keys for all the listed games for $5 (at least at the time of my writing this, as the average amount paid was less than that). Not sure where you are seeing that you have to pay shipping. Everything is digital.

I mean do you just pay $5 and you get all of those 8 awesome games they offer? Do you get the disks or does it go right to steam? I am completely clueless.

You do not get the disks. Most of the time, you get Steam keys, or a direct download. Sometimes both. In this case there are 3 titles that are only available on Origin, so you get Origin keys for those. The others you can get either a Steam key or an Origin key.

I might already have an origin account but if I don't where would I sign up for one? Also how frequent are these. Are they different games every time?

You can sign up for an Origin account at https://www.origin.com/

The larger bundles like this are about once a month, give or take. They do a weekly sale that posts new bundles every Thursday, which you can find by clicking on the weekly sale tab at the top of the Humble Bundle page. Those are usually smaller bundles, or made up of more casual style indie games. Still, it's a good idea to keep an eye on it, because every so often, like this one, you get a deal that seems almost too good to be true.

It doesn't matter really. They will send an e-mail with a link to a private page where you access the keys. IIRC, you do not need to make an account with the humble bundle website to access the page, but if you do make an account with them, they will save all the bundles you buy to your account so you don't need to worry about losing the e-mail with the link.
